UD "Exploring Careers in Management Information Systems" Class Visits CommitDBA
February 15, 2017 - Dayton, Ohio
University of Dayton students from the Exploring Careers in Management Information Systems (MIS) class and Professors Steve Hall and Dave Salisbury visited the CommitDBA office on February 13th. Hosting the class was Gary Codeluppi, Sr. VP of Business Development and Marketing, who is a UD Marketing and Finance graduate and currently serves on both the UD School of Business and the Management Information Systems Advisory Councils. After a tour of the office, Gary presented to the class an overview of CommitDBA, his career path of 40 years in the IT industry, his role at CommitDBA and lessons learned/advice to the students as they learn, lead and serve. John Lynch, CommitDBA Data Solutions Practice Manager and UD MBA grad, shared his personal career journey, job role at CommitDBA and lessons learned/advice to the students.
The MIS 220 class provides first- and second-year students insight into what Information Systems are and how they are a strategic part of many businesses and exposes the students to many of the great career opportunities in the field. This introductory course, whose site visits Ross Group CommitDBA has hosted for several years, has been successful in attracting bright students to UD's MIS program. Professor Hall commented “another great program by CommitDBA as the students were engaged in discussions and took away many life learned lessons from these two experienced IT professionals.”
The University of Dayton is a leading Catholic Research Institution, and CommitDBA is a leading managed service provider of database administration and data solutions.
